An Evening with The Last Unicorn Author Peter Beagle

When: September 2, 5:30PM
Where: The Lena Martin Room of the Gadsden Public Library
Join the Gadsden Public Library in welcoming The Last Unicorn Author and Nebula winner Peter Beagle. Mr. Beagle is the author of the beloved Young Adult novel The Last Unicorn as well as the screenplay of the Lord of the Rings which inspired Peter Jackson’s film version.

Prom At the Pitman: The Second Time Around

When: September 5, 8PM
Where: The Pitman Theatre, Broad Street
Did Carrie have a better time at the prom than you? This September get another chance at prom happiness with Prom at the Pitman: The Second Time Around sponsored by GPL and DGI.
Tickets will cost $15 Individual/$25 Couple, and will be available to purchase in August at both the GPL and DGI. Please make all checks out to DGI.
Live music and a DJ! Tunes will be limited to the discographies of Air Supply, Foreigner, Chicago, REO Speedwagon, etc.
T-shirts will be available for purchase, pre-orders only!
A prom photographer will be available to take your photo under a balloon arch with a lattice-work backdrop…yes, you will be able to purchase a package of 8X10, 4X6, and wallet sized photos…
The prom decorating committee is committed to decorating with a maximum of crepe paper and an extra dose of schmaltz.
Dress may be nouveau or retro (we highly encourage retro for the men, especially ruffles and bow-ties…oh, and velvet and/or satin piping on the lapels and pants-legs).
